The collection contains the papers of Boulder County politician and activist Josie Heath (1937- ). The collection spans from 1970 to 1990 and is comprised of correspondence, newspaper and magazine articles, photographs, memorandums, pamphlets, and minutes from her political campaigns and various other committees and organizations. Josie Ward Heath was born in San Jose, California in 1937, however, Heath was raised in Forest Grove, Oregon by her mother for the early part of her life. In third grade, her mother, a waitress in the bus depot cafe, married her father, who was a clerk at a local hardware store.
